Historic town square lined with autumn festival tents, pumpkins, hay bales, and a hay maze on a crisp September morning

The Medina Fall Festival is the square's annual kickoff to fall, and this year it lands on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Free to attend and tied to the city's farmers market, the event fills Medina's historic Public Square from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM with family activities: a hay maze, pumpkin painting, a petting zoo, a costumed puppy parade, horse rides, an apple cider pressing demonstration, face painting, a balloon artist, line dancing, live music, and a chili cook-off. Medina is about 25 minutes from North Royalton, an easy drive for a full morning out.

A Whole Morning of Activities

The festival is really a collection of small joys arranged around one beautiful square. Younger kids gravitate to the petting zoo and the hay maze, while the pumpkin painting and apple art tables give everyone a fall souvenir to carry home. The costumed puppy parade is a crowd favorite, and horse rides around the square's perimeter turn a simple trip into a memory. Between activities, the balloon artist and face painter keep the line moving and the smiles coming.

Built Around the Farmers Market

Because the festival is tied to Medina's farmers market, the square is also full of regional growers and makers selling the season's best: fresh apples, cider, squash, baked goods, and handmade fall items. You can watch the apple cider press work, sample what comes out of it, and do most of your weekend food shopping while the kids are otherwise occupied. It is the rare event where the grown-up errand and the family outing are the same thing.

A Community That Shows Up

When I take buyers through Medina County, I always point out what the Public Square represents: a true town center where residents gather, shop, and celebrate together. Events like the Fall Festival are why communities like this feel connected. For North Royalton families, it is also proof of how much is within easy reach, an old-fashioned town square with a modern family festival, less than a half-hour away.
