Corn maze season in the Cuyahoga Valley is underway, and Szalay's Farm in Peninsula is one of the region's classic stops. The farm's 2026 maze opened September 19 and runs daily from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM through October 31. Admission of $6 covers the maze plus the Spinning Barn, with kids ages 3 and under free. The farm is about 25 to 30 minutes from North Royalton, a scenic drive down the valley that is half the fun.

Into the Corn

There is something timeless about a corn maze: the walls taller than any kid, the turns that look familiar but are not, and the quiet hum of the field all around. Szalay's maze is set up for families, with paths wide enough for strollers and enough length that older kids can genuinely puzzle their way through. The market carries seasonal produce and farm goods, and the Riverview Road setting in Peninsula puts you right in the middle of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park scenery. Many families make a day of it: morning at the farm, then a drive or a meal in the valley on the way home.

A Drive That Is Part of the Plan

From North Royalton, the route to Peninsula follows some of the most scenic roads in the region. That is worth saying out loud, because it changes how you plan the outing: this is not a commute, it is a fall road trip with the maze as the destination. When I recommend neighborhoods to buyers, I like pointing at things like this, the day trips that make a location feel bigger than its square footage.
